Bring Quick Launch Back from the Dead
The Quick Launch is superfluous with the presence of the updated Taskbar, but you can still bring it back with the following steps:
• Right-click the Taskbar, hover over Toolbars, and select New Toolbar.
• In the Folder selection field at the bottom, enter the following string:
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
• Turn off the “lock the Taskbar” setting, and right-click on the divider. Disable “Show Text” and “Show Title” and set the view option to “Small Icons”.
• Drag the divider to rearrange the toolbar order to put Quick Launch where you want it, and then right-click the Taskbar to lock it again.

Unable to edit hosts file in Vista
To work around this issue, follow these steps:
Click StartCollapse this imageExpand this image, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Notepad, and then click Run as administrator.
Collapse this imageExpand this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
Open the Hosts file or the Lmhosts file, make the necessary changes, and then click Save on the Edit menu.

Cannot Advance Playlist
In my car I have the alpine cda-9833 head unit mated to an alpine kca-420i iPod interface adapter. Every once in awhile the playlist lands on a certain U2 song which renders the next button useless. I am unsure of the root of this problem, but will continue to investigate.

Web-Based File Upload / Download
I had a client who needed the capability for their customers to upload/download files from their server but did not want to be forced to use an FTP application. The solution was fairly simple as the great folks at GleamTech provided me with a .msi installer which had to be the easiest install yet. The program does however, require IIS 6.0 or above (which Server 2003 has).
FileVista is developed in ASP.NET and AJAX, and boasts features such as copying, moving, zipping, unzipping files and downloading multiple files at once.

Tap Number To Dial
I use my iPhone to sync my mail and calender with an Exchange 2007 account, which I use to update work orders, record notes while on the road, etc. Whether you are in a hurry, have 20 different things going on, or are just plain lazy, tap to dial is very useful. I would like to be able to “tap to dial” a numerical string whether it’s on a webpage or in the calender notes section, why does this not work?
Spector Pro Updates, Rendering Activation Useless
People, the host file will not help at all because the program directly contact an ip with no resolvable alphanum host. You will need to block the entire ip range (i.e.: 64.49.213.1 to 64.49.213.255) of spectorsoft to forbid the program to block the serial. Use your router or your firewall. There’s also a method directly in Windows to do it: http://forums.webhostautomation.com/showthread.php?t=2906
The check routine starts when IE is active and while you’re opening the program, so that’s a good way to test if your ip block works.

Download flash player?
Okay, I thought I couldn’t view flash in safari? Why the hell is it asking me to download the plugin I cannot use? I am fowarding a copy of this to the webmaster 
Iphone os 3 wish list
When adding a contact from within maps a default action would be to add a link to the map in the contact photo. This would of course be great if the contact photo field was linkable.
